Does my insurance cover working with a dietitian at My Fruitful Body?

If you are a New York resident with Aetna, NYSHIP, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, Oxford, or EmblemHealth, the answer is almost always yes — usually at $0 out-of-pocket. Benefits are verified before your first visit. Outside New York, superbills are provided for partial reimbursement.

Do I need a doctor's referral to see a dietitian?

Most insurance plans do not require a referral for medical nutrition therapy, but a few do. Your specific plan is checked when benefits are verified.

Is My Fruitful Body a weight-loss focused dietitian practice?

No. The focus is on helping people understand and care for their bodies — not chasing a number on a scale. Sustainable, long-term change is the only approach used.

What if I don't live in New York?

Angela is licensed in Illinois and sees clients there via telehealth on a self-pay basis. For other states, superbills are provided for out-of-network reimbursement.

Are you accepting new clients?

Yes. A free 15-minute consultation is the first step, where fit and availability are discussed together.

Will I get a meal plan?

Sometimes — when it actually helps. Often what helps more is understanding why your current eating pattern feels chaotic and rebuilding it around your real schedule and labs. Every plan is different because every client is different.
